Job summary

Tailwind Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for The Quarters Columbia in Columbia, Missouri. The role focuses on keeping a student housing property well-maintained, performing general repairs, and supporting preventative maintenance to ensure high-quality living for residents.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with potential after-hours duties based on business needs. Competitive hourly pay and bonus potential are offered, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication with residents, prospects, vendors, and community members.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Basic computer skills and use of property management software.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs in apartment units, common areas, and building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, drywall).
• Support annual turnover and make-ready processes; lead temporary staff as needed.
• Maintain curb appeal through daily property walks with the maintenance team.
• Work with vendors/contractors to ensure quality products and service.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and on-call duties.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with preventive maintenance program.
• Attend regular team and 1:1 meetings and keep operations informed.
