Job summary

Abhe & Svoboda, Inc. seeks an onsite Project Manager to lead quality control on USACE projects at the JF Costello Dam site near Modoc, IL.

The role requires coordinating with the onsite Superintendent and the Site Safety & Health Officer, maintaining the project QCP, and managing the Three-Phase QC system. Candidates should have a USACE CQM-C certificate or ability to obtain, at least five years in construction management on USACE projects, and a degree in Construction Management or Civil

Qualifications

• Must have USACE CQM-C certificate or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Minimum five years of related construction management experience, preferably on USACE projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Experience with USACE RMS 3 software or ability to learn.
• CWI and CIP Level 2 certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) in compliance with USACE requirements.
• Implement and manage the Three-Phase Quality Control System for all major work features.
• Conduct and document QC meetings with USACE, subcontractors, and project staff.
• Prepare and submit daily QC reports, material submittals, test reports, and other required deliverables.
• Coordinate third-party testing and inspections, ensuring timely submission and resolution of non-conformances.
• Perform QC inspections (Welding, Coatings), as qualified.
• Verify compliance with contract specifications, drawings, and USACE standards.
• Serve as the primary quality liaison with USACE and other stakeholders.
• Manage QA/QC documentation and maintain current records.
• Prevent and correct deficiencies by identifying non-conformance issues and following up on corrective actions.
• Read and understand codes for Welding, Blasting & Painting.
• Verify dimensions of product or material to match shop drawings and field conditions.
• Interpret engineering drawings and confer with site management or engineering staff.
