Job summary

Tiello LLC is seeking an Onsite/Traveling Project Manager (Structural Steel) to oversee $50M+ projects across the United States, with emphasis on East Coast and Midwest work. The role requires daily field coordination, scheduling, and close collaboration with erectors and fabricators.

The successful candidate will travel extensively, lead pre-planning, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while driving project milestones and field documentation.

Qualifications

• High proficiency in Bluebeam, PDFs, MS Project, Excel and Word.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel frequently.
• Road-warrior capable; able to stay on job sites across U.S.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with erection foreman on materials, logistics and deliveries.
• Attend daily/weekly meetings with erector and adjust schedules.
• Review steel deliveries and coordinate with shops to resolve issues.
• Document field changes and update in-office PM systems.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA requirements on site.
• Oversee pre-planning, sequencing and site coordination with teams.

Job Title: Onsite/Traveling Project Manager (Structural Steel)

Location: Traveling/On the road

Compensation:

• $85K-$115K (Depending on experience/tenure)
• Annual Bonus

Tiello has partnered with a highly regarded and growing Structural Steel Fabricator with locations across the Midwest, Mid Atlantic, Northeast and Southeast on the search for an Onsite/Traveling Project Manager with experience overseeing $50M+ structural steel projects in various locations across the United States but more specifically, to support the East Coast and Midwest Projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact daily & continuously with erection foreman to assist with coordination of materials,laydown/logistics, supply needs, etc.
• Set up and re-schedule deliveries with all steel shops, joist & deck, bolts (follow up with emails to vendors and cc office PM)
• Attend weekly/daily meetings with the erector
• Review deliveries of steel and immediately starts coordinating with company and other fabrication shop(s) if anything is missing to resolve & expedite missing pieces
• Works with erector to resolve fix for any mis-fabricated and/or mis-detailed pieces to keep erection going.
• Immediately after includes in-office PM with details to document issue(s).
• Look ahead at concrete progress, anchor bolts, surveys of anchor bolts, crane and access roads, etc.
• Coordinate with erector and contractor to prepare site for our work, coordinate with other trades
• Ensure erector addresses all inspection items and remedies timely
• Reviews & maintains rolling punch list
• Relays any changes in the field/directives from customer to in-office PM for recording.
• Reviews erector time tickets for extra work to be submitted
• Works minimum 5 days a week with erector during their work hours, follows all on site Safety requirements.
• Works overtime as required by the erection crew within confines of agreement with company management.
• Reviews and analyzes manpower requirements and schedule progress.
• Observe safety measures in place by erector and ensures OSHA, contractor and company requirements are met.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully on behalf of company to the contractor and other parties
• Participates in pre-planning including sequencing, schedules, delivery timing, site coordination, joins pre-erection meetings with erector & contractor

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High level competency in Bluebeam, PDF’s, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, and common computer skills
• Valid driver’s license
• MUST be a road warrior/able to travel and remain on job site

Preferred:

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields
• Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, possibly internships or part time employment
• Continuing education in project management training, organization, and leadership development skills is strongly encouraged
