Job summary

Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC (SIRE) in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Project Manager to own the delivery of plant projects from maintenance to major capital builds, ensuring on-budget, on-schedule, and on-scope results. The role reports to Engineering Manager and requires tight budget control and strong risk management.

The ideal candidate has a solid engineering degree, 3+ years in industrial/project environments, and proficiency with MS Project, Primavera, and Procore.

Qualifications

• Proven record of delivering industrial projects on budget, on schedule and on scope.
• Strong financial skills: estimating, budgeting, forecasting and business cases.
• Experience writing bid packages and negotiating with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant projects from start to finish, including capital, construction and shutdowns.
• Define scope, develop cost estimates, and prepare business cases for approval.
• Build budgets and schedules, track costs, report status to leadership.
• Lead change control to prevent scope creep and keep on budget.
• Prepare bids, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts with contractors and vendors.
• Oversee on-site contractors, ensuring safety, quality and schedule.
• Identify risks and enforce safety requirements and processes.
• Coordinate with Operations and Accounting to minimize production impact.
• Close projects with commissioning, final costs, and updated drawings.
