Job summary

Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC seeks a Project Manager in Council Bluffs, IA. You will own the delivery of plant projects from small maintenance to large capital initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and within-scope results. Strong focus on cost control and formal governance is essential.

We require an engineer with business sense to lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, schedules, and contractor relations. PMP or equivalent preferred; EIT/PE a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil or agricultural/biological).
• PMP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 2 years.
• EIT/PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant projects from start to finish, including capital, construction, equipment installation, process improvement, and shutdown/outage projects.
• Define project scope, develop cost estimates, and prepare business cases for management approval.
• Build and manage project budgets and schedules, tracking costs and progress and reporting status to the Engineering Manager and plant leadership.
• Run a formal change control process to prevent scope creep and keep projects on budget and on schedule.
• Prepare bid packages, evaluate competitive bids, negotiate contracts, and build a network of qualified contractors and vendors.
• Oversee contractors on site and ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and Accounting to minimize production impact and ensure reliability.
