Job summary

Fortis Native Group is seeking a Project Manager for a Southern California contract to supervise preventive maintenance and repair of buildings and mechanical/electrical systems at Naval Base San Diego. The role emphasizes leadership, scheduling, and compliance with NAVFAC/DoD standards, with 100% onsite work.

The PM will manage skilled trades, coordinate with vendors, and oversee performance metrics while ensuring fiscal responsibility and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required or eligible.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years' experience in operation and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, Fire suppression, environmental and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, inspect, and control preventive maintenance and repairs of building systems.
• Create and manage schedules to ensure proper staffing levels and regulatory compliance.
• Approve vacation time, overtime, and timecards.
• Train new employees on work-related equipment and procedures.
• Maintain records and generate reports as required.
• Liaise with clients, on-site personnel, and vendors to address deficiencies and ensure service quality.
• Create estimates as needed.
