Job description

The Site Project Manager is responsible for the on-site delivery of modular data center projects in North America, managing the project from site readiness and module arrival through installation, system integration, commissioning, acceptance, and final handover. This role serves as the primary on-site interface among the owner, engineering teams, factory, contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and local authorities, ensuring that project schedule, quality, safety, cost, and technical requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end site delivery of modular data center projects, covering site readiness, module receiving, lifting and placement, installation, system integration, commissioning, acceptance, and handover.
• Develop and manage the site execution plan and master schedule, identify critical paths and construction dependencies, and drive contractors and internal teams to achieve key milestones.
• Manage on-site contractors, subcontractors, EPC partners, and vendors, including daily coordination, work sequencing, manpower planning, progress tracking, issue resolution, and performance management.
• Coordinate key interfaces between factory-prefabricated modules and site infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical/HVAC, controls, fire protection, plumbing, network, and structural systems.
• Ensure site installation complies with approved drawings, specifications, local codes, quality standards, and project requirements, managing RFIs, design changes, punch lists, NCRs, and field technical issues.
• Coordinate commissioning and system turnover activities, including pre-commissioning, functional testing, integrated system testing, issue closure, commissioning documentation, and customer acceptance.
• Own site safety, quality, and delivery performance, working with EHS and QA/QC teams to conduct inspections, risk assessments, corrective actions, and contractor compliance management.
• Provide regular project reporting and escalation, maintaining progress reports, issue/risk registers, action trackers, change records, and handover documentation, while escalating critical issues to project leadership in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of project delivery, construction management, or site management experience, with proven responsibility for complex engineering or mission-critical projects.
• Data center experience is strongly preferred, particularly in data center construction, MEP installation, commissioning, infrastructure delivery, or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with modular construction, prefabrication, containerized systems, or off-site manufacturing is highly preferred, with a clear understanding of factory-to-site delivery interfaces.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, HVAC/mechanical, controls, fire protection, plumbing, and structural interfaces, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams without necessarily serving as the discipline design engineer.
• Proven experience managing general contractors, subcontractors, EPC contractors, equipment vendors, commissioning teams, and customer representatives in an active construction environment.
• Familiarity with North American construction practices, site safety requirements, project documentation, and applicable codes and standards; experience working on projects in the United States is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently at project sites and travel extensively within North America as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates with experience from data center developers/operators, hyperscalers, EPC contractors, general contractors, MEP contractors, commissioning companies, or modular construction companies are preferred.
