Senior Project Manager - Structural Steel Erection

Experienced in structural steel erection? Ready to take the lead on major projects?

I'm working on an opportunity with an established steel erection contractor looking for a Senior Project Manager who can take full ownership of complex structural steel projects from preconstruction through to completion.

This isn't a general construction PM role. The ideal candidate will understand the realities of steel erection, from workforce planning and site coordination through to project financials, change orders and final delivery.

Projects include complex structural steel packages for:

• Mission-critical facilities and data centres
• Commercial and industrial buildings
• Airports and major public venues
• Large-scale, technically challenging structures

You'll take ownership of projects from preconstruction through to final completion, including:

• Project planning, schedules and overall delivery
• Workforce planning and site team leadership
• Managing superintendents, general foremen and field crews
• Project budgets, cost control, change orders and pricing
• Safety, quality and performance management
• Coordination with leadership and site operations
• Keeping projects on track, resolving issues and driving results

You'll have the autonomy to run your projects, backed by an established business and experienced leadership team.

I'm particularly interested in speaking with people who have:

• Approximately 5–10+ years of relevant experience, depending on project exposure
• The ability to take full ownership of project delivery with limited supervision
• Experience overseeing site teams, workforce operations, safety and quality
• A strong understanding of project financials, change orders and commercial decisions
• The confidence to manage complex projects and make decisions under pressure

Experienced Superintendents with strong project management and commercial capabilities may also be considered.

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred, but relevant steel erection experience and the ability to deliver are the priority.

• Base salary of $110,000–$150,000, depending on experience
