Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking an eager, hard-working Project Engineer who is passionate about the heavy civil construction industry. This on-site role provides training and resources to help you develop the skills to manage projects professionally and personally, building infrastructure that matters for communities.

You will collaborate with the Project Team to plan and support construction engineering projects, interpret drawings and specs, manage materials and subcontractors, and oversee RFIs,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction management role (estimating, operations, and/or engineering).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor & equipment reporting, planning, and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures, safe work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Team to plan and support completion of construction engineering projects.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and technical information for the Project Team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design details.
• Identify, order and coordinate delivery of permanent materials such as pipe, stone, reinforcing steel, beams, etc. Works with the Project Team and Purchasing Department to ensure that all required purchase orders and subcontracts are finalized in a timely and cost-effective and simplistic manner.
• Manage the RFI and submittal process including establishment and maintenance of project control logs in CMiC.
• Process owner billings and project related accounting tasks.
• Assist Project Manager with development of Change Orders and related documentation.
• Monitors all work, including subcontractors, for safety compliance in conjunction with the Safety Manager. Maintains project safety files and reviews the project schedule for activities requiring special safety measures.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or related major

OSHA 30-hour certification

FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification
