Job summary

Actalent is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our Kansas City team. The role focuses on documenting, scheduling, and communicating across all project phases to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The ideal candidate will have construction management experience and a proactive problem-solving approach. Responsibilities include maintaining construction docs, managing Procore data, and coordinating with subs and designers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in design-build and/or industrial construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of construction processes including bidding, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Proficiency with Procore or similar project management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute current construction documents (addenda, ASIs, proposals).
• Manage project information within Procore and internal systems.
• Record and issue meeting minutes for clear communication.
• Maintain a change order log and price changes within one week.
• Assist in issuing subcontracts and purchase orders with accuracy.
• Read and understand subcontract conditions and prime contracts.
• Update project schedules weekly and support field staff.
• Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors, designers, and consultants.
• Analyze, manage, and mitigate project risks proactively.
• Manage submittal logs, RFIs, and other project controls.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Promote strong safety culture across activities.
