BlueScope Steelscape in Rancho Cucamonga, CA is seeking a Process Engineer to support safety, quality and production of coated steel products. The role emphasizes developing technical/process specifications, tracking metrics, and leading yield improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in engineering or related field with 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or manufacturing related field required
• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred
• 2 years in a supervisory or people management role preferred
• 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong leadership and safety orientation required

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve equipment issues using root-cause analysis and statistical methods
• Improve equipment performance and lead quality/yield improvement activities
• Coordinate with Area Manager and supervisors; back up in their absence
• Prepare and review monthly line yield reports and daily line run data
• Coordinate production trials and support self-directed work teams in process improvements
• Develop and implement SOPs and training material for processes and safety
• Manage raw material inventory and ensure quality/low-cost materials are used
• Resolve vendor supply issues and participate in capital projects
• Plan monthly/yearly maintenance and shut-down activities
• Ensure safety issues are addressed and safety goals are achieved
