Job summary

PPG is seeking an Electrical Control Engineer for our Delaware, Ohio manufacturing facility. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in design, maintenance, and startup of process control and safety systems supporting chemical production.

You will partner with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve reliability, yield, and efficiency. You will own instrumentation and automation projects from design through installation and startup, with responsibility for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, or related field.
3+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and VFDs.
Experience reading P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control drawings.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and ongoing support to the site’s 24/7 manufacturing operations related to process control systems, safety systems, process instrumentation, DCS, and PLCs.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system, instrumentation, and automation issues using technical knowledge and data analysis skills.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to control systems, electrical systems, and automation.
Support production and maintenance teams in yield improvement, efficiency optimization, and reliability projects.
Lead the installation, commissioning, and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects, ensuring compliance with functional, budgetary, and schedule requirements.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements related to electrical and control systems.
