Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Certified Inspector to ensure quality and conformance of mechanical and optical components in a manufacturing setting. You will inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and interferometers, review certifications, and document results.

The role requires onsite work, ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or higher education in a related discipline with 2+ years of inspection experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and material certifications.
• Basic understanding of GD&T principles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming mechanical and optical components using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs, interferometers).
• Perform visual, mechanical, and optical inspections to verify conformance to specifications and drawings.
• Review certifications and inspection records for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and process nonconformances per QMS procedures.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability.
• Prioritize inspections and communicate discrepancies promptly.
• Follow safety, cleanroom and ESD protocols; lift up to 35 pounds.
