Job summary

SpaceXAI in the Memphis region seeks a hands-on Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee on-site power plant infrastructure in Southaven, MS. You will lead crews handling gas turbine packages, piping, pumps, HVAC, and fire protection, ensuring milestones and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3+ years managing such teams, strong safety leadership, and collaboration with electrical and process trades. Relocation is required; excellent communication and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing construction teams on large industrial projects.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical installations.
• Experience with gas turbine plants or heavy industrial facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate mechanical installations including gas turbine and generator auxiliaries, fuel gas piping, process and BOP piping, pumps, heat exchangers, compressed/instrument air, water and cooling systems, plant HVAC, and fire protection.
• Manage and schedule on‑site crews to meet milestones and quality standards.
• Ensure safety and adherence to mechanical scope, commissioning and plant uptime.
• Maintain logs, red‑line drawings, and as‑built documentation for plant infrastructure.
• Develop aggressive schedules and keep the project on time and budget.
• Enforce SpaceXAI safety program and zero‑incident culture around heavy equipment.
• Supervise foremen and crews, fostering teamwork in a high‑stakes generating plant.
• Resolve on‑site challenges with coordination across trades and safety/codes.
• Conduct site inspections for compliance with regs, codes, safety and quality.
• Provide progress reports and risk updates to senior leadership.
• Support mechanical completion, flushing, hydrotest, commissioning, turnover to operations.
