Job summary

SpaceXAI in Southaven/Memphis is seeking a Manager of Engineering to own the design, build-out, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation, controls, and electrical systems at SpaceX’s power generation facility in Southaven. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role with a focus on high reliability for critical compute campus operations.

You will lead a team of automation engineers and technicians, review P&IDs, challenge control philosophies, and dive into DCS/PLC architecture,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation engineering.
8+ years in automation and controls on power generation projects or large-scale critical power infrastructure.
3+ years leading a team of engineers or technicians.

Responsibilities

Own automation, controls, and electrical scope from design through commissioning.
Lead controls scope for balance‑of‑plant and supporting utilities (fuel gas, HVAC, water, wastewater).
Build, mentor, and manage a team of automation and controls engineers and technicians.
Review control philosophy documents, I/O lists, and schematics; drive standardized DCS/PLC/SCADA architecture and cybersecurity.
Interface with internal teams, OEMs, and contractors; develop SOWs and manage contractor work.
Own field commissioning and drive root-cause investigations and reliability improvements.
