Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation in Brownsville, TN is seeking a Project Engineer/Plant Engineer to manage capital projects, facility improvements, and process enhancements to support safe, efficient manufacturing.

You will lead projects from concept to closeout, develop scopes and budgets, coordinate contractors and suppliers, review drawings, and ensure regulatory compliance and safety throughout the site.

Qualifications

• B.S. engineering in a relevant field is required.
• 5+ years of related project engineering experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and financials.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Ability to work a standard 8-hour day, with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital improvement, facility upgrades and process improvements from concept to installation.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates; monitor performance.
• Provide engineering input for processes, equipment, and materials to improve productivity and safety.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards across projects.
• Coordinate contractors, OEMs, vendors and procurement for projects.
• Prepare bid specs; review bids and make award recommendations.
• Support drawings, equipment specs, and technical records approvals.
• Oversee field installation, verify workmanship and acceptance of work.
• Initiate procurement activities and expediting for project materials.
• Report project status and cost forecasts to leadership; improve procedures.
