Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Project Engineer/Plant Engineer to manage capital projects, facility upgrades, and engineering initiatives that support safe, efficient manufacturing operations at the Brownsville, TN plant. Responsibilities include leading projects from concept to closeout, developing scopes, budgets, and schedules, and coordinating contractors and equipment suppliers.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering required.
• 5+ years related project engineering experience required.
• Must be able to work Monday to Friday, standard 8 hour work schedule with overtime 3-5 hours/week.
• This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily to Brownsville, TN plant.
• Experience with medium to large scale engineering projects: budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and financials.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital improvement, facility upgrades and process improvements from concept through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates; monitor performance within timelines and budgets.
• Provide engineering expertise for evaluating and implementing new processes, equipment, technologies, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, building, electrical, and fire protection standards.
• Coordinate and manage contractors, consultants, OEMs, vendors, and suppliers for projects and procurement.
• Prepare bid specifications, review proposals, and recommend awards.
• Support drawings, equipment specs, and construction documents.
• Oversee field installation activities and verify workmanship and compliance.
• Coordinate procurement activities including material requisitions and expediting.
• Provide project status updates to plant and leadership.
• Develop engineering procedures, standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Safety and other departments.
• Support maintenance with electrical, plumbing, utilities troubleshooting.
• Support environmental compliance activities including testing, reporting and audits.
