Job summary
Energy Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a Plant Operator for our North Chicago facility. This role requires operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment and systems on a 12-hour rotating shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
You will work with PLC systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support safety programs while coordinating with facilities teams. Onsite work ensures close collaboration with a busy Operations Services group.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3–6 years of related experience.
- 4th Class Power Engineer NIULPE License or higher (required within 18 months).
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair plant equipment and systems.
- Operate PLC equipment and perform start-up activities; troubleshoot as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
- Maintain maintenance/work order procedures and communicate issues clearly.
- Interact with customers as needed and support long-term performance tracking.
