Job summary

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, invites you to Genoa Healthcare in Westminster, MD for a Pharmacist Intern internship this Summer 2027. On-site, full-time 40 hours per week from June 1 to August 6, 2027, you will be part of a collaborative care team serving behavioral health and addiction treatment communities.

Duties include dispensing medications, patient counseling, clerical tasks, PHI HIPAA compliance, and immunizations as allowed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with at least the first professional year completed before start of internship June 2027.
• Active licensure as a pharmacist intern or equivalent as required by the state Board of Pharmacy.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Provide information to customers about medications and their use.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing patient records and processing insurance claims.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• Administration of immunizations as allowed by state boards of pharmacy.
• Any other usual and customary pharmacy duties.
• Adhere to safety and HIPAA standards.
