Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Per Diem Catholic Priest Chaplain to provide Catholic Mass 1–2 days per week in the hospital chapel and support spiritual care for patients, families, and staff in Worcester, MA.

The role requires ordination as a Catholic priest, endorsement by the regional bishop, and APC/NAC certification or eligibility, with a focus on compassionate, culturally aware care.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree of Divinity or related degree from CHEA-accredited school.
• Current ordination or commission to function as a chaplain.
• Certification by APC/NAC or eligibility within three years.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral/spiritual care to patients, families, and staff; administer sacraments and liturgical services.
• Deliver Catholic Mass 1–2 days per week in hospital chapel or on holy days.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate spiritual care and cultural sensitivity.
