Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a People Operations Business Partner to provide hands-on, on-site HR support across manufacturing, engineering, and operations. The role partners with Senior People Business Partners and leaders to deliver practical HR programs, employee relations support, and lifecycle guidance.

The position requires an on-site presence five days a week with flexible hours to support a 24x7 operation, in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing/engineering/industrial or fast-paced environment.
• Experience handling employee relations, performance, attendance, and coaching.
• Experience with benefits administration, leave administration, or lifecycle processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Senior People Business Partners to support a large employee population across manufacturing, engineering, and operations.
• Serve as first point of contact for routine employee questions; escalate complex matters.
• Develop understanding of the organization’s workforce needs and challenges.
• Support leadership meetings and talent discussions; assist with workforce planning and changes.
• Identify recurring people issues and bring observations to the Senior BP team.
• Maintain visibility with employees and managers by spending time in work areas.
• Provide coaching to managers on employee relations, attendance, and policy interpretation.
• Assist with employee investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions.
