Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Hyde Park seeks a Transplant Services Specialist to provide administrative support, data analysis, and customer service for the Transplant/Liver department. This 100% onsite role guides patients and staff through the hospital’s feedback process, coordinating with the Office of Patient Relations to ensure compliant, patient-friendly experiences.

The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while using EPIC and Microsoft

Qualifications

• 2 years in patient advocacy and/or customer service experience.
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems independently, perform multiple tasks, exercise good judgment, and work in a team.
• Cooperate with co-workers and staff to serve patient needs.
• Ability to learn new systems/processes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality with tact and discretion.
• Attend mandatory training after hours or on weekends with advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the initial contact for patients, their representatives, and staff.
• Effectively communicates with all parties to capture feedback; demonstrates sensitivity and care.
• Documents feedback in EPIC and assigns cases to transplant teams for follow-up.
• Monitors department voicemail, mail, faxes, and email for feedback.
• Follows up as necessary and enters data for processing.
• Maintains confidentiality addressing sensitive patient issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
