Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Laboratory Clerk to perform a range of clerical and technical duties under supervision. The role involves receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communication with clinicians at the Front Window and by phone.

The position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1–2 years of laboratory, healthcare, or customer service experience, with onsite duties at 2 Wells Avenue and a 40-hour work week on a Day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of previous laboratory, healthcare, or customer service experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with lab staff and hospital personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with labeling, preservation and fixation of specimens.
• Work closely with technologists to ensure specimens are processed timely and accurately.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
• Organize patient specimens and assay worksheets/printouts for testing and technologist review.
• Use LIMS to upload documents and input data or comments.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment.
• Rotate chemicals in all stainers and processors.
• Stock lab supplies and track inventory.
• Other lab related duties as needed.
