Cogent Infotech in Clark, NJ is seeking a Packaging Engineer I to learn and contribute to packaging category development. You will join a team to support prototypes, tooling, and specifications.

The role emphasizes collaboration, on-site work, and meeting deadlines across divisions and vendors. A BS in Engineering with 1–3 years experience in packaging is preferred, along with CAD, MS Office, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of proven experience in package engineering & development; preferably cosmetics, consumer goods.
• Strong PC skills; MS Office, PowerPoint and CAD software
• Adobe Creative Suite preferred
• Strong understanding of the packaging production process
• Meticulous with design details and attention to quality
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently in a matrix environment
• Well organized and flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced matrixed environment
• Demonstrated skills in analyzing, reporting and documenting information with attention to detail

Responsabilités

• Assemble packaging prototypes for consumer testing
• Participate in the process of managing new tooling development
• Understand and learn how to push Division + Operations + Vendors Adherence to key dates
• Learn and apply ability to anticipate and elevate blocking points to ensure meeting deadlines and/or major launches
• Learn and become proficient in our systems related to packaging specifications & testing
• Troubleshoot technical issues
