Job summary

McElroy Metal is hiring an Onsite Operator for our Adelanto, CA location. The role involves operating portable roll-forming and curving equipment to produce panels per customer specs and traveling to jobsites across the U.S. using a company vehicle.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, reporting to the Operations Manager. A valid license, DOT medical card, and willingness to travel are required. High school diploma and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent appearance and communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining roll-forming equipment.
• Valid license and up-to-date DOT physical and drug screen.
• Willingness to travel to U.S. jobsites, often for multiple days.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently.
• Metal building/construction experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain portable rollformer, curver, and taper machines and related equipment.
• Travel to site locations using company truck and trailer.
• Adjust equipment to meet product specifications and perform tooling changes.
• Conduct QA checks to ensure correct specifications.
• Train a back-up operator as needed.

Summary

An opening currently exists for an Onsite Operator at our Adelanto, CA manufacturing location. This position will operate the portable roll-forming and curving equipment to produce panels in accordance to customer requirements. This position will also be required to travel to jobsites located throughout the U.S., using a company provided vehicle and towing a trailer. This is a non-exempt position reports to the Operations Manager

Hours

Responsibilities

• Sets up, operates and maintains portable rollformer, curver, and taper machines. This also includes secondary equipment, such as the Hot Melt unit, generator, and air compressor.
• Travel to site locations using company truck and trailer.
• Adjusts onsite related equipment to properly produce the required product, including making tooling changes and adjustments.
• Performs all necessary QA checks to ensure correct specifications.
• Will train a back-up operator technician as necessary.

Experience/Skills/Other

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have excellent appearance and communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining roll-forming equipment.
• Valid license and up-to-date DOT physical and drug screen.
