Job summary

The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) in Wichita, KS is seeking a full-time, on-site Charge Entry Specialist. This role focuses on accurately posting all office and hospital charges to patient accounts while following established procedures, ensuring completeness and HIPAA compliance.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with benefits through The US Oncology Network, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, disability, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year data entry experience preferred.
• Medical business office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews charge documents for accuracy and coordinates with staff on any payment or billing issues.
• Enters charges into the PMS according to established processes.
• Enter and review charge tickets before finalizing and updating charges in the PMS and then releasing the same.
• Extract information from the EMR to ensure completeness and accuracy of charges.
• Follow up with appropriate personnel to obtain complete and correct information for charge entry.
• Evaluate and correct any returned claims.
• Timely and accurate entry of information in the practice management and EMR system.
• Adheres to confidentiality and HIPAA laws and guidelines regarding patient records.
