Job summary

The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) in Wichita, KS is seeking a full-time Insurance Reviewer on-site to manage prior authorizations for scans, labs and chemotherapy, ensuring timely reimbursement and adherence to reimbursement guidelines.

You will verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-certifications, coordinate with providers and insurers, review EMR and PMS entries, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Associates degree in Healthcare or Business-related preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years medical insurance verification and authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains prior authorization for scans, labs, subsequent chemotherapy visits or any other service as required.
• Maintains a professional working relationship with co-workers, insurance companies and referring doctor offices.
• Assists in receiving and reviewing orders to determine if prior authorization is needed and obtains it when necessary.
• Reviews clinical documents in EMR to meet authorization requirements.
• Uploads and attaches authorizations and referrals to PMS and EMR as needed.
• Maintains up-to-date information on insurance requirements for all payer needs per policy.
