Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Rocky Hill, CT, is seeking an Office Engineer to support the Field Services team on large infrastructure projects. You will read construction drawings, track daily field records, review materials, and help develop pay estimates and project closeouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Primavera or related software.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Maintain accurate daily records of contractor activities, labor, equipment and materials.
• Review construction materials for contract compliance.
• Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance.
• Attend and chair construction progress meetings.
• Conduct observations of installation and acceptance testing of equipment and systems.
• Develop record documentation for engineer review and acceptance.
• Assist with project audit and closeout.
• Supervise junior Resident Project Representatives and construction inspectors.
