Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a New Product Manufacturing Development Engineer to bridge design and production. This 100% onsite role focuses on NPD, process development, and tooling to bring prototypes into robust manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, strong CAD skills, experience with elastomers/polymers, and hands-on mold/tooling collaboration. Onsite schedule Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a U.S. institution required.
• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Strong New Product Development (NPD/NPI) experience.
• Experience with material research, evaluation, and selection.
• Experience with injection/compression molding strongly preferred.
• Experience in rubber, elastomers, polymers, plastics, or composites preferred.
• Experience developing molds, tooling, and production fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Lead products from prototype through manufacturing launch.
• Research materials and manufacturing processes for new products.
• Develop elastomeric components using Silicone, LSR, Butyl, Nitrile, EPDM, FKM, TPEs.
• Work with toolmakers to design, procure, test and validate molds.
• Support mold design: gating, venting, material flow, cycle time.
• Use 3D CAD to support molds, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and development.
• Apply DOE and manufacturing process optimization techniques.
• Troubleshoot flash, cure defects, shrinkage, dimensional variation, process consistency.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Utilize SPC to monitor process capability and reduce variation.
• Support production tooling, molds, fixtures, and equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling, and Customer Service.
• Drive continuous improvement for quality, cost, manufacturability, cycle time, and productivity.
