Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a DOE/Nuclear security enterprise. This fully onsite role in Amarillo, TX requires an active DoD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance and extensive Cisco routing/switching experience.

You will maintain secure, highly available enterprise network infrastructure, focusing on availability, lifecycle management, monitoring, and change control within a rigorous DOE environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, Master’s with 2+ years, or 10+ years of combined education/experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of relevant networking experience including Cisco routing and switching.
• Experience supporting secure, highly available enterprise network environments.
• Active DoD Top Secret w/ eligibility for DOE Q, or currently active DOE Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 99.9% availability of core network infrastructure and resolve incidents within SLAs.
• Develop and execute network lifecycle, upgrades, patching, and rollback plans.
• Monitor network devices, support onboarding and telemetry reporting, and optimize performance.
• Support Cisco ISE authentication, authorization, access control services.
• Administer wireless LAN, AP deployments, and VoIP services (moves/adds/changes).
• Manage load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM environments.
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, inventories, and change records; manage RFCs via ServiceNow and CAB.
