Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a secure engineering and technical services organization for the U.S. DOE.

This is a fully onsite role in Amarillo, TX, requiring an active DoD Top Secret or DOE Q clearance. You will maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, VoIP, and core services, focusing on availability, incident resolution, lifecycle management, monitoring, and change control in a highly secure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, Master’s with 2+ years, or 10+ years in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of relevant networking experience, including Cisco enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience supporting secure, highly available enterprise network environments.
• Strong network troubleshooting, operations, and infrastructure management experience.
• Ability and willingness to work fully onsite in Amarillo, TX
• Active DoD Top Secret w/ eligibility for DOE Q, or currently active DOE Q security clearance

Responsibilities

• Maintain 99.9% availability of core network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and data center fabrics, while resolving network incidents and service outages within SLAs.
• Develop and execute network lifecycle, upgrade, patching, and rollback plans to support infrastructure stability and availability.
• Monitor network devices, support NOC/SOC onboarding and telemetry reporting, and provide recommendations for performance optimization, capacity planning, and remediation.
• Support Cisco ISE authentication, authorization, access control services, NAC, and identity groups.
• Administer wireless LAN infrastructure, access point deployments, and VoIP services, including moves/adds/changes/deletions.
• Manage load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM environments supporting enterprise network operations.
