Job summary
Insight Global seeks a .NET Developer to modernize and enhance an enterprise risk platform. You will build APIs and microservices, migrate data to cloud environments, and support Azure/AWS-based modernization while adopting AI-assisted coding tools.
The role spans production support, performance tuning, and governance in an Agile team. Key requirements include 3–5+ years with C#/.NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, cloud experience, and familiarity with AI tooling.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of hands-on software development experience using C# and .NET, including recent experience with modern .NET versions (.NET 8 preferred).
- Strong experience with SQL Server, including querying, performance tuning, data modeling, and data-intensive applications.
- Experience building and supporting enterprise applications, REST APIs, and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and application design principles.
- Experience working within a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, PCF, or similar).
- Experience participating in and supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Sonnet, or similar).
- Understanding of AI fundamentals, including prompt creation and evaluation of AI outputs.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Exposure to front-end development using Angular or a similar modern framework.
- Recent development experience with Python within the past 2-3 years.
- Experience developing applications within financial services, risk management, trading, or fintech environments.
- Experience with ETL and data integration tools, such as SSIS.
- Experience building or integrating AI-enabled applications, intelligent automation, or enterprise productivity platforms.
- Experience designing scalable, secure cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.

Job Description
As a .NET Developer, you will support the modernization and continued enhancement of a critical Enterprise Risk platform used to monitor and manage market risk, securities exposure, cash flow positions, and other risk-sensitive business functions. This role will play a key part in helping the organization evolve its development practices, modernize its cloud strategy, and expand the adoption of AI-assisted software development across the engineering organization.
The platform is built primarily using .NET, Python, SQL Server, Angular, and microservices architecture. A significant portion of the role will focus on supporting the migration of data and application functionality from SQL Server-based environments into cloud-based solutions while helping drive the team's transition away from its current Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) environment.
Initially, approximately 80% of the role will focus on core software engineering responsibilities including application development, API development, cloud modernization efforts, SQL Server optimization, and production support. The remaining 20% will focus on leveraging AI-enabled development tools and helping improve engineering productivity through AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and development workflows. Over time, the team expects AI-driven development activities to become a larger component of the role.
