Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking a technician to contribute to nondestructive evaluation methods. The role involves collaborating with engineers and scientists from development through implementation, using hand tools and automated data collection systems, and fabricating fixtures to meet critical inspection needs.

You will operate manual and multi-axis equipment, obtain a Pratt & Whitney PIV/Fork Truck license, and participate in planning to meet milestones with the group.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree with 1+ year of technician experience.
• US citizenship is required to access program information.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers/scientists from inspection development to implementation in NDT methods.
• Operate hand tools and data collection systems, both hands-on and automated.
• Generate custom fixtures and tooling for inspection needs and plan milestones with scientists/engineers.
• Use drills, strapping machine, pallet jack; obtain PIV/Fork Truck license.
• Inspect parts with multi-axis machines and lift parts up to one ton with a hoist.
• Communicate effectively within a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
