SAIC is hiring a Network Security Engineer in Suffolk, VA to support a Navy IT transport network, ensuring 24/7 availability. On-site role requiring strong experience with firewall/DMZ infrastructure and SSL inspection across Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco platforms.

The candidate will design, test, and deploy perimeter security, lead RCAs, document build cycles, and collaborate with vendors in a dynamic security environment. Active Secret clearance preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of experience.
• Expert experience with perimeter security devices: Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, FortiGate, A10, Cisco ESA/ASA.
• Experience developing and configuring SSL encryption/decryption for traffic inspection.
• Experience maintaining Firewall/DMZ infra including packet filtering techs.
• Experience with RCAs, risk identification, and remediation.
• Knowledge of configuring Cisco switches.
• Ability to obtain OS certification (CCNA or Linux+) within 6 months.

Responsabilidades

• Build, design, test and deploy perimeter security systems.
• Maintain records and reports on perimeter operations to analyze performance.
• Support root cause analysis and remediation activities; coordinate with vendor support.
• Configure and test replacement perimeter devices.
• Plan, document, and implement hardware/software build and refresh cycles.
• Create and maintain SOPs for perimeter hardware and software.
• Attend weekly teleconferences and on-site meetings.
