Job summary

SAIC seeks a Network Administrator to support a naval enterprise transport network in Suffolk, VA. The role emphasizes 24/7/365 availability, end-to-end visibility, and rapid operations to sustain mission-critical connectivity.

Responsibilities include Tier 2 engineering support, network monitoring, maintenance, and change management across routing, switching, and security devices. Requires active Secret clearance and CCNA/CCNP or equivalent, with weekend shifts and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with two years of relevant experience.
• Additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages.
• Utilize monitoring tools to oversee network infrastructure and ensure performance.
• Perform day-to-day maintenance, fixes, and deployments of software and hardware.
• Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations.
• Operate and maintain privileged access solutions.
• Maintain verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures.
• Operate hardware upgrade processes and procedures.
• Update software builds on deployed equipment.
• Enact change management for the solution.
• Operate and maintain incident management processes.
• Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date.
• Support design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and components.
• Support capacity analysis for switching, routing, transmission and signaling.
• Conduct testing of network systems.
• Evaluate new network technologies to enhance capabilities.
