Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Staff Engineering Lab Assistant in Cedar Rapids to provide hands-on build support for engineers and technicians. You will read engineering prints, troubleshoot and repair circuit boards, terminate cables, and perform soldering with lead and lead-free techniques.

You will work under minimal supervision, document changes, and collaborate to ensure specifications are met. An AA/AS degree with 6+ years of experience is preferred for this onsite role with strong

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience reading prints, drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical build support to engineers and technicians.
• Perform circuit board repairs, component insertion and inspections.
• Build and terminate cables for various circuitry types.
• Utilize soldering techniques with precision (lead and lead-free).
• Read and interpret engineering prints and schematics for build/modification.
• Follow quality procedures and document inspection results.
• Operate hand tools, soldering stations, scopes and related devices.
• Collaborate with engineers to meet specifications.
