Job summary

Cindavi in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Mechanical Quality Specialist to serve as a final checkpoint for modular mechanical systems before shipment. The role combines hands-on shop-floor work (about 75%) with document review and reporting (about 25%).

Qualified candidates bring 7+ years in mechanical trades, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of pumps, valves, and piping. Training in QA/QC is provided; relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive mechanical trade experience with hands-on installation.
• Lead/foreman experience in mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, and equipment skids.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts.

Responsibilities

• Verify pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and equipment against drawings, specs and submittals.
• Inspect complete mechanical packages for installation quality, alignment, performance, workmanship, and finish.
• Identify constructability risks before shipment, including interference and sequencing concerns.
• Witness testing, document results, maintain turnover records, and confirm modules are ready for release.
• Collaborate with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, electrical, engineering, and operations teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement.
