Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts.

Responsibilities

• Verify pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and equipment against drawings, specs and submittals.
• Inspect complete mechanical packages for installation quality, alignment, performance, workmanship, and finish.
• Identify constructability risks before shipment, including interference and sequencing concerns.
• Witness testing, document results, maintain turnover records, and confirm modules are ready for release.
• Collaborate with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, electrical, engineering, and operations teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions for continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Great mechanical quality starts with someone who has built the work and knows when something does not look right. We are hiring a Mechanical Quality Specialist to serve as a critical final checkpoint for modular mechanical systems before shipment from our Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility.

Bring your field experience into a stable, fully onsite role where you can prevent costly rework and influence quality across a growing operation. You will spend roughly 75% of your time on the shop floor and 25% reviewing documents and completing reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and equipment against engineering drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
• Inspect complete mechanical packages for proper installation, alignment, performance, workmanship, and finish.
• Identify constructability risks before shipment, including interference, access, serviceability, clearance, orientation, and sequencing concerns.
• Witness testing, document results, maintain turnover records, and confirm modules are ready for release.
• Partner with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, electrical, engineering, and operations teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Strengthen future designs and production quality through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Approximately seven or more years of progressive mechanical trade experience, including hands-on installation work and at least two years in a lead-hand, foreman, or comparable oversight role.
• Project delivery experience in healthcare, automotive, data centers, or other mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, equipment skids, and complete mechanical installations.
• The ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, and redline drawings.

Prior QA/QC experience is not required. We can teach our quality systems and corrective-action methods. What matters most is the judgment you developed by delivering complex mechanical projects.

The position offers $66,560 to $83,200, a standard day shift, 10 PTO days, 13 paid holidays, and up to $5,000 in relocation assistance. There is no routine travel, and no college degree is required.
