Job summary

Trueline in Tuscaloosa, AL seeks a Mechanical Quality Specialist to join its growing off-site modular construction team. The role focuses on ensuring quality of mechanical modules through inspection of pumps, valves, piping, and equipment against engineering drawings and specs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years installing mechanical systems and proven field leadership, with a strong eye for detail and problem-solving, and is local to work onsite Monday–Friday on a first-shift schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years installing commercial/industrial mechanical systems.
• Previous field leadership role or equivalent informal leadership.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, and mechanical equipment installation.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, equipment layouts.
• Identify constructability, installation, serviceability issues before completion.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience on Healthcare, Data Centers, Automotive Manufacturing, or Mission-Critical facilities.
• Local candidate able to work onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final quality checkpoint before mechanical modules leave facility.
• Inspect pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and equipment to ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Identify constructability issues before shipment (access, piping interferences, orientation, serviceability, sequencing).
• Verify proper installation, alignment, and fit/finish of modular systems.
• Partner with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, electrical, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Review fabrication drawings and installation details.
• Participate in final shipment readiness inspections and documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement to reduce rework.
• Mentor junior quality personnel and establish best practices.
• Champion a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
