Job summary

XPS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support hyperscale data center programs onsite as the owner’s representative, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure design intent is maintained through construction.

The role requires strong experience with mechanical systems in mission-critical environments, on-site execution, and ability to manage design, submittals, RFIs, and field coordination across multiple active sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience within mechanical engineering, consulting engineering, construction administration, or mission-critical project delivery.
• Experience in mechanical design engineering, field engineering, owner’s representation, or construction support services.
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects is highly preferred.
• Onsite full-time work in active construction environments.
• Strong coordination across design and construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical design progression and construction administration across 1–2 active hyperscale data center sites.
• Support onsite execution of large-scale mission-critical construction programs as the owner’s technical representative.
• Collaborate with general contractors, trade partners, consultants, and internal development teams to resolve technical design and construction challenges.
• Manage and track RFIs, submittals, design clarifications, and field coordination items related to mechanical systems.
• Support implementation and coordination of HVAC systems, HVAC controls, plumbing systems, and civil wet utility infrastructure.
• Assist with ensuring mechanical systems are installed in accordance with design intent and specifications.
