Job summary

MITRE is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in the Mechanical and Reliability Department to perform mechanical and environmental analyses for ground, airborne, and shipboard systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate command and control systems, conducting dynamics, structural, and thermofluids analyses, and delivering sponsor-ready results. This role requires 2–5 years of related experience and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 2-5 years of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• CAD design concepts and detailed design for complex mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizen.
• Position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to develop and evaluate command and control systems.
• Perform dynamics, structural, and thermofluids analyses at component, item, and system levels.
• Deliverables or parts of deliverables to sponsors.
