Job summary

Nightwing Intelligence Solutions, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support ongoing programs at our Springfield, Virginia location. The role is onsite and requires enrollment in an accredited ME program, with strong CAD skills and solid communication abilities.

You will assist senior engineers on multidisciplinary projects, contribute to design reviews, prototyping, and documentation, while gaining hands-on experience in defense-related engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a MS or BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Rising Junior or Senior by Summer 2027 with a GPA of 3.0+.
• U.S. citizen able to obtain Top Secret clearance (CI polygraph) if hired full-time after graduation.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Support multidisciplinary engineering activities and senior engineers on various projects.
• Design and analysis of tools/mechanisms; create fabrication drawings; mechanical testing; rapid prototyping; report and presentation writing; design review support.
• Assist with documentation and data management for ongoing programs.
• Collaborate with engineering and technician teams in a fast-paced environment.
