Job summary

Premier Staffing Solution, LLC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for an onsite contract in Painted Post, NY. This role lasts one year with potential extension and requires 40 hours a week, with possible weekends or longer days to support installation schedules.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in mechanical design, proficiency in SolidWorks and Inventor (and AutoCAD for 2D), and experience with GD&T, BOMs, and PLM systems. Travel is about 10% domestically.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing support, product development, or process equipment design.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and Inventor for 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, and documentation; AutoCAD for 2D; two of the three are required.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, fabrication methods, and manufacturability principles.
• Experience developing BOMs, supporting design revisions, and maintaining documentation through PLM or similar system.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, support testing, and communicate design recommendations clearly.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and problem-solving in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, BOMs using SolidWorks, Inventor and AutoCAD (at least two of the three).
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure designs are manufacturable and compliant with project requirements.
• Support mechanical design from concept through prototyping, testing, documentation and production release.
• Conduct testing, analyze data, and recommend equipment and process improvements.
• Generate detailed shop drawings, fabrication packages, assembly drawings and parts lists with proper revision control.
