Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting seeks a Mechanical Construction Project Engineer to support a high-profile Department of Energy project in Amarillo, Texas. The role focuses on delivering HVAC, piping, and sheet metal scopes, coordinating with PMs, superintendents, vendors, and the client to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of construction or engineering experience and an engineering degree, with a strong interest in growing into project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support the project management team with planning and execution of HVAC, mechanical piping, and sheet metal scopes.
• Assist with project documentation, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and contract requirements.
• Prepare, submit, and track RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and material approvals.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Track equipment and material procurement to support the construction schedule.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate action items to the team.
• Maintain accurate project logs including RFIs, submittals, procurement items, change orders, and closeout documentation.
• Support quality-control inspections and ensure compliance with drawings and codes.
