Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Materials Planner to plan and schedule the delivery of indirect and MRO materials for manufacturing operations. The role works closely with suppliers, production, quality, and accounting to optimize inventory, costs, and customer service.

The position is fully onsite in Princeton, IL, with a focus on maintaining safe stock levels, improving material flow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain performance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years of planner, buyer, supply chain or related manufacturing experience.
• Strong planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Kanban, JIT, MRP, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience with ERP and supplier scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure indirect and MRO materials to support production needs.
• Review requisitions for quantities, specs, and delivery requirements.
• Maintain inventory levels and safety stock to balance availability and cost.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules to ensure on-time supply.
• Expedite critical materials to prevent production disruptions.
• Identify shortages and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Communicate forecasts and delivery priorities to suppliers.
