Job summary

Colonna’s Shipyard Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Material Production Controller to join our shipyard operations. You will bridge Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, and Production to ensure timely flow of materials and balanced inventory.

You will monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishments, and ensure materials arrive at the right place and time to support manufacturing schedules in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in inventory control, production planning, materials management, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in manufacturing, shipyard, aerospace, defense, or heavy construction environment preferred.
• Proficient with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Deltek Costpoint, Epicor, JD Edwards, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the availability of raw materials, components, and consumables for production schedules.
• Analyze production requirements and align material availability with manufacturing priorities.
• Collaborate with planners, supervisors, and managers to mitigate material shortages and delays.
• Review and release material requirements based on forecasts, work orders, and customer demand.
• Develop contingency plans to address supply chain interruptions and material constraints.
