Job summary

EPITEC is seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to support Final Assembly manufacturing operations in a Michigan plant. The role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, ergonomics, and process capability in Trim and Chassis assembly areas.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot assembly issues, analyze data, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement with plant teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related manufacturing/process engineering experience.
• Strong problem-solving and data-analysis skills.
• Experience with process validation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activities within Final Assembly.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, and throughput.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements using engineering principles and data-driven problem solving.
• Investigate quality concerns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and perform manufacturing process audits to ensure process discipline and compliance.
• Conduct ergonomic evaluations and develop corrective actions to improve operator safety.
• Identify production and throughput constraints and drive root-cause improvements.
• Develop and maintain process sheets, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Support capable manufacturing processes and tooling for Trim and Chassis Assembly.
• Lead resolution of assembly-related manufacturing concerns.
• Drive variability reduction and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Analyze vehicle inventory issues and develop corrective actions to improve production flow. Partner with production teams and other cross-functional groups to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Support ISO 14001, environmental, corporate, governmental, and plant compliance requirements.
