Job summary

Nextpower seeks a hands-on Site IT Engineer to keep inverter assembly operations running in Mesa, AZ. You’ll support laptops, shop floor devices, printers, and network gear, working with Manufacturing Engineering and IT to resolve issues rapidly.

This boots-on-the-floor role requires on-site availability, strong problem-solving, and customer-service focus as you manage tickets, maintain inventories, and help secure the production network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in manufacturing, warehouse, lab, or similar environment.
• Solid endpoint support across laptops, desktops, and shop floor devices: Windows imaging, AD basics, MDM tools, printer support.
• Local helpdesk experience—ticket queue, prioritizing requests, clear end-user communication.
• Working knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, switch config, Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
• Comfort with firewall basics—reading rules, changes, and log reviews.

Responsibilities

• Image, deploy, and maintain laptops/desktops for site staff and shop floor devices.
• Configure and support rugged handhelds, scanners, RFID readers, and tablets.
• Set up and troubleshoot label printers and other production printers.
• Manage device inventory, spares pool, and break-fix swaps to keep operations running.
• Patch, update, and harden endpoints per IT/security standards.
• Install, configure, and maintain switches, APs, and cabling across the plant.
• Support MES and shop floor integration with equipment and test stations.
• Run the local helpdesk: triage, resolve, escalate as needed; on-floor support during production hours.
• Onboard new operators, maintain asset inventory, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Be first responder when a station goes down; diagnose and fix or escalate quickly.
