Job summary

GEOTEK in Stewartville, MN is hiring an Employee Experience Specialist to be the HR contact for team members on the floor. You’ll answer pay, benefits, leave, and attendance questions, coordinate onboarding, and keep accurate records.

The role is 100% onsite with shifts and floor exposure; you’ll escalate issues when needed and partner with Payroll, Benefits, Safety and HR Partners to resolve them quickly and fairly.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field.
• 2–4 years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or hourly environment.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA and workers' compensation.
• Comfortable on a production floor and building trust with team members at every level.
• Strong listening and de-escalation skills, with good judgment on when to elevate.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the named first point of contact for team members at the site, on the floor and through walk-ins, phone, text and email.
• Answer questions on pay, benefits, leave, schedules, attendance and policies; route the rest to Payroll, Benefits and Leave, Safety or HR Business Partners, and follow through until it’s closed.
• Document and resolve team member concerns, and elevate to HR Business Partners when manager, performance or investigation issues are involved.
• Lead onboarding from orientation through the first 90 days, including 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins.
• Run onboarding logistics, take badge photos, set up access, and distribute PPE and onboarding materials.
• Keep personnel records accurate and enter employment changes in our HR systems.
• Support team members in KPay with logins, paystubs and timecard corrections.
• Process offboarding and conduct stay and exit interviews, sharing themes with HR leadership.
• Partner with HR Business Partners, Safety and our carrier on workers' comp claims from report through return to work.
• Coordinate engagement activities, recognition and site communications, and report monthly on trends in concerns, turnover and retention risk.
