Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Controller for our Charlotte, MI site. This onsite, full-time role partners with operations leadership to drive profitability, oversee accounting, and manage budgeting and forecasting for a manufacturing environment.

You will lead month-end close, analyze costs and KPIs, and guide cross-functional teams to improve financial performance. Strong Excel and ERP experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong accounting and financial management experience.
• Manufacturing finance and cost accounting experience.
• Experience supporting operational leadership and business decision-making.
• Solid understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Ability to quickly learn business operations and adapt to a new environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operations leadership to support productivity, profitability, pricing strategies, and business performance.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
• Analyze KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
• Build strong working relationships with plant leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
• Review financial statements and provide meaningful analysis of business results.
• Support statutory and management reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff.
• Lead budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
• Perform variance analysis and evaluate operational and financial trends.
• Analyze labor rates, manufacturing costs, and operational performance metrics.
• Present financial results and explain P&L performance to operational leaders and senior management.
• Support cost accounting activities and analyze product costs, inventory valuation, and variances.
• Drive continuous improvements in manufacturing financial processes and reporting.
